10:15am to 12:15pm ages 6-9: Creative Theatre: Have you ever wanted to star in a play you helped create? Join us this summer, as students learn all about theatre by doing it themselves! Children are guided, by the instructors, through a process where they play theatre games, create a story, and work together to make that story into a working theatrical production. The participants create their own character, plot, props, costumes, title, and everything else that’s needed to make the production complete. You get to play the part you have always dreamed of!
12:15 to 2:15 ages 10-14: Alice in Wonderland:
Have you ever wanted to travel down a rabbit hole, or take part in a mad tea party? Join us this session and you’ll get your chance! Brought to by the Creative Theatre team, our version of “Alice in Wonderland” is based on the Manhattan Theatre project’s production which is loosely on the Lewis Carroll stories. Alice finds herself falling down the rabbit hole, and from there tries desperately to get back home. In our production we have multiple Alices (because it is wonderland Alice changes shape constantly), plenty of mad tea party guests (the hatter, the hare, dormouse, etc), and of course her royal highness the queen of hearts. But like the Creative Theatre programs, the students add their own voice to this piece. The thing to remember is that everyone in wonderland is quite mad, and quite funny!”
